Hello, I’m Francie. I’m from a crap town called Barrow-In-Furness. In fact, it’s 47th in ‘Crap Towns: The 50 Worst Places to Live in The UK’. Coming from here, I’ve noticed I’m not that classy compared to my southern friends.Tesco is a great first date. The different aisles open up to various conversations and it’s always interesting trying to find somewhere to sit and eat your £3 meal deal. Watching my local rugby team work their way down the league instead of up is my kind of Sunday.

It’s the small things in life that are usually overlooked that I see such beauty within. This is also reflected in my practice, as the smaller details don’t go unnoticed.

I am proud to have been given the title ‘bag lady’ at the age of 5, after coming home each week with bags full of my nannas rubbish which I used to make books, puppets, models and more. To this day, thinking through making is still an important part of my practice.
